We continue our countdown of the 52 Michigan State Spartans to watch during the 2016 season.

To remember one of the best Michigan State squads, Spartan Digest brings you our Spartan 52 for 2016. Why “52”? to remember the 1952 team coach by Clarence Lester “Biggie” Munn that went 9-0 winning a National Championship by being voted No. 1 in both the AP and Coaches’ polls. Munn was also named AFCA Coach of the Year.

#12 Madre London

London has all the tools to become one of the best running backs in the Big Ten.  However, he’s also got two teammates that also have a lot of talent and who stepped ahead of him when he missed time due to injury.  If healthy London can be the Spartans go-to back.  If not, he’ll have to keep fighting to get reps.

2015

Played in 11 games starting six but missed games against Michigan, Indiana and Nebraska.  Ranked third on the team in rushing with 500 total yards and three touchdowns.  Had a big game against Iowa in the Big Ten Championship Game where posted 60 yards on 12 carries.

WHY HE MADE THE COUNTDOWN

Big, strong and fast can describe London on the field.  He’s got the talent to be a starter on many teams but knows he must fight for his reps each week with teammates L.J. Scott and Gerald Holmes.  Some within the Spartans program feels London is the best overall back on the Spartans, they also know having a three-headed running attack provides security and the ability to pound Green pound.
