We continue our countdown of the 52 Michigan State Spartans to watch during the 2016 season.

To remember one of the best Michigan State squads, Spartan Digest brings you our Spartan 52 for 2016. Why “52”? to remember the 1952 team coach by Clarence Lester “Biggie” Munn that went 9-0 winning a National Championship by being voted No. 1 in both the AP and Coaches’ polls. Munn was also named AFCA Coach of the Year.

#10 Kodi Kieler

Kieler can play tackle, guard or center but listed as the starting center going into camp.  Has earned three letters during his career and played in 38 career games including 19 starts mainly at right tackle.

Missed three games early in the season due to injury but started 11 games with ten at right tackle.  Play overall was steady but more was expected of him on the edge.

A move inside at center will help Kieler as he struggled at times with edge rushers at tackle.  Must play at a high level as he’s got a ton of experience with 19 career starts.  In the past the Spartans have used smaller centers so it will be interesting to see how they adjust with a giant under center like Kieler.  Made the Top Ten because he must have the best season of his career for the Spartans to have success.
