We continue our countdown of the 52 Michigan State Spartans to watch during the 2016 season.

To remember one of the best Michigan State squads, Spartan Digest brings you our Spartan 52 for 2016. Why “52”? to remember the 1952 team coach by Clarence Lester “Biggie” Munn that went 9-0 winning a National Championship by being voted No. 1 in both the AP and Coaches’ polls. Munn was also named AFCA Coach of the Year.

#6 Dennis Finley

Finley has the size and ability to become a high level player as an offensive tackle.  2016 should be his breakthrough season as he’s continued to work on technique.  Listed as a right tackle on the preseason depth chart, Finley should bring a more athletic player to the position.

2015

Was a back-up at left tackle who was called upon to replace Jack Conklin when injured earning his first career start against Purdue.  After a solid start to the game, Finley went down with a broken fibula and tibia in the first half missing the rest of the season and a chance to continue his growth.

WHY HE MADE THE COUNTDOWN

Spartan Digest has been high on the talents of Finley since we first watched him during his Sound Mind Sound Body performance that helped him earn an offer from the Spartans.  Will be expected to play a major role along the Spartans revamped offensive line with his move to right tackle.  Finley must step forward and play at a high level early in the season for the Spartans to have success so a lot of eyes will be watching his progress.
