No surprise the Michigan State defense stepped forward in the Spartans first scrimmage of the 2016 preseason.

The @Michigan State Spartans stepped into Spartan Stadium for the first time in 2016 as the offense looked to better the defense.  The scrimmage lasted two-and-a-half hours using a modified scoring system and lasted 137 plays that included special teams.

In the end the defense walked away with a 26-17 win.  The Spartans will return to work on Sunday for their ninth workout of preseason camp.
