Scott Reed - Spartan Digest

Michigan State sophomore running back LJ Scott feels he's got the tools to become the Spartans main back in 2016.

Sophomore running back LJ Scott enters the 2016 season as one of four possible running backs in the Michigan State offensive attack that can carry the load. However, he feels there is no reason he can’t be the one the Spartans turn to the most. Spartan Digest spoke with Scott about what he expects this season and the competition surrounding the Spartans running backs.

Coming off a true freshman season where he led the Michigan State Spartans in rushing, carries and rushing touchdowns means nothing to L.J. Scott as he enters his sophomore season in East Lansing.

Scott, one of the many heroes from the Spartans Big Ten Championship Game victory over Iowa, is in a heated battle for reps with three fully capable teammates at running back.

While the competition is a friendly one, Scott feels there is no reason he can’t step forward and become the Spartans main back in a revamped offensive attack in 2016.

Spartan Digest spoke one-on-one with Scott recently and he touches on several subjects.
