Michigan State is still looking for a defensive back in the 2016 class. Florida defensive back Randall Haynie could be that player.

Michigan State is in the South looking at several defensive backs to possibly add to their 2017 recruiting class. Vanderbilt pledge Randall Haynie gives Spartan Digest the latest on the interest the Spartans have shown him.

After giving Vanderbilt his verbal pledge in July, Fort Lauderdale (Fla.) Cardinal Gibbons cornerback Randall Haynie is seeing a renewed interest from the Michigan State Spartans as they continue looking for that one special defensive back to add to the 2017 recruiting class.

Spartan Digest connected with Haynie on Friday about his interest in the Spartans.

“I learned in the spring that they (Michigan State) had interest in me when they came to watch a practice,” Haynie said by Twitter message.  “Coach (Mark) Snyder came to see me in school today.  I haven’t received an offer from them yet, but they’re taking one more defensive back and I feel that it’s coming soon.”

With his pledge to Vanderbilt, Haynie might have some decisions to make if the Spartans decide to make an offer.  What would happen if the 6-foot, 175-pound defender would earn an offer from the Spartans?

“Even though I’m committed to Vanderbilt, I’m still going to explore all my options,” he said.
