A mid-day home game means a great time for Mark Dantonio and his staff to welcome potential recruits to campus to watch the Michigan State Spartans in action.
Spartan Nation has been working to gather as many names expected to attend Saturday’s match-up with BYU and here is a small sampling along with a link to our growing list only Spartan Nation subscribers can view.
YOUNG PLAYER TO KNOW
There is no mistaking Matthew Young is a player being watched closely by the Spartans coaching staff. The 6-foot-1, 225-pound linebacker is quickly picking up steam and the Spartans have interest.
Here is what Scout national recruiting analyst Allen Trieu had to say recently about Young.
“One junior I was really impressed with was linebacker-fullback Matthew Young. He was very active on the defensive side of the ball. He is aggressive and a good athlete and also showed well as a lead blocker on offense. Definitely one to watch.”
FIRST YEAR FOOTBALL PLAYER OF NOTE
Dayton (Ohio) Belmont athlete Jadon Furlow is a player way under the radar the Spartans saw in the summer at the Midwest Gridiron Showcase satellite camp in Huber Heights, Ohio. Furlow never played the game of football until this fall but showed his great athletic ability as a 6-foot1, 175-pound cornerback/receiver.
