Following a week of uncertainty regarding MSU's QB situation Dantonio makes a game time decision and names Lewerke

O'Connor? Terry? Lewerke? Oh my! Following a week of uncertainty at the QB position, who did Head Coach Mark Dantonio name to start?

Head coach Mark Dantonio has named redshirt freshman quarterback Brian Lewerke to start for the Spartans against Northwestern today. Following a brutal loss to BYU last week the Spartans had some questions to ask and answer regarding who Michigan State's quarterback should be. This will be the first start of the season for Brian Lewerke; however, he has seen minimal playtime early on this season. Brian Lewerke will be starting today, but keep and eye out for Tyler O'Connor and Damion Terry as they will probably get an opportunity to perform later on in the game. Brian Lewerke was the talk of camp with Dantonio naming him "Kirk Cousins Like." Lewerke is from Phoenix, Arizona. The QB position has been a struggle this season, but it is not completely to blame for the Spartan's struggle as controversial offensive play calling and a weak offensive line have really handicapped the Spartan offense this season.
