The Michigan State Spartans already have one commitment from the state of Georgia in their recruiting class of 2017, Connor Heyward, but that number should change. Roswell, Georgia is the home of Koby Cumberlander, a Scout two star athlete. Koby recently received an offer from Michigan State, calling the university his “dream school.”
The offer came as a very special moment for Koby. He told Spartan Nation, “It means so much to me; I have wanted to be a Spartan since I was very young. And to know that I'm going to be another athlete out of my family to play for them is an incredible feeling.” Koby explained his family’s connection to Michigan State, “My uncle, Kevin Willis, played for the basketball team back in the 80s and was drafted in the 1st round 11th pick and played for the Hawks.”
As of now, Koby Cumberlander has one visit planned when the dead period ends. “I will officially visit Michigan State on the 13th of January.” The 6’3, 240 pound edge rusher was offered as an outside linebacker and is one of the few remaining linebacker targets on Michigan State’s radar.
Spartan commit Connor Hayward has already took to recruiting Koby to join the class.
Scout lists Koby Cumberlander as a two star defensive end. Spartan Nation will follow up with Cumberlander after his visit to Michigan State.
