2018 four-star OL hoping for Michigan State offer
On the offensive line, there will be a need for a center in the recruiting class of 2018 as it does not appear the Michigan State Spartans will take a recruit at the position in the class of 2017. 2018 Detroit, Michigan four-star center Tyrone Sampson could fill that hole as he hopes to earn an offer from Michigan State. The East English Village Prep standout is the second ranked center in the nation as well as the fourth overall recruit in the state of Michigan in his class.
Tyrone is notorious for being a hard worker on and off the football field. He constantly receives praise on the camp circuit for his work ethic, and it showed on the football field this season. “My season went well. It didn't necessarily go as planned because we didn't make the state playoffs, but individually, I did great,” said Tyrone. “I think I improved my foot work and my hand placement and my flexibility. However my speed is an area I still need to work on,” he added.
For the time leading up to his senior season, and his senior season, Tyrone has a specific goal in mind. “One of my goals is to expand my offer list and to work on myself, being the best me possible,” Tyrone stated. As far as offers he would like to add, Tyrone added, “Michigan State, Michigan, Minnesota, Pittsburgh, Nebraska, Wisconsin, Louisville, Florida, and Ohio State.” Currently, Sampson holds offers from Syracuse, Western Michigan, Toledo, and a few other MAC schools.
It is no secret Tyrone is a big time Spartans fan. He has been to Michigan State over a dozen times. “Michigan State has always been my favorite growing up as a kid and I love the campus. I have a good relationship with coach Staten,” Tyrone suggested. As for what the 6’3” 315 pound offensive linemen is hearing from Coach Staten, and the rest of the staff, Tyrone explained, “They tell me to keep working hard and the offer should come soon”.
An offer from Michigan State would be very hard to pass up for Tyrone. He concluded our talk with “Go green! Go white!”
Tyrone Sampson is slated a four-star recruit by Scout and is ranked the second center in the class of 2018, as well as the 262nd ranked recruit in the nation. Spartan Nation will continue to keep up with Tyrone as he visits schools in the winter and spring time.
