The Michigan State (MSU) Spartans have received their second commitment in the class of 2018 from Dayton, Ohio four-star wide receiver Joseph Scates. Not only is Joseph the second commitment in the class of 2018, but the second from Ohio, adding onto four-star cornerback Xavier Henderson.
States briefly discussed his commitment with Spartan Nation. “I couldn't feel any better! I’ve wanted to be a Spartan since my visit in November.” He visited MSU for their matchup with Ohio State. Joseph’s November visit was his second in East Lansing, as he visited for the Spring game in April, but he knew it would be his home. “I’m ready to help bring a National Championship to East Lansing,” Joseph added.
Joseph is a 6’4”, 180 pound wide receiver that is a red zone threat. He recorded 22 touchdowns in his junior season at Dunbar High School. He held 13 offers including Kentucky, Pittsburg, Wake Forest, Vanderbilt, and others.
“I'm glad to finally be apart of the family,” he commented.
