This morning, the Michigan State Spartans received commitments from three of their top remaining targets. Two have yet to go public, but the first to announce came from DeAri Todd, a 6’4”, 240 pound defensive end from Lorain, Ohio.
On Friday evening, Michigan State offered Todd and just two days later, he flipped his commitment from Boston College to Michigan State.
“It feels great. I'm just very humbled by the opportunity.” Todd told Spartan Nation just after committing to Mark Dantonio and the Spartans. “They [the staff] were very excited to have me on board.”
Todd’s decision to flip his commitment from Boston College to Michigan State came as no easy choice. He described his flip as the “toughest decision I’ve had to make in my life.” However, Todd also spoke of the factors that led to his decision to commit to Michigan State, “the people at MSU and just how I felt when I was on my visits there helped me make my decision."
Todd explained that he will be able to bring “versatility” to the Spartans’ defense.
“Go green. Go white,” Todd concluded our discussion.
DeAri Todd is rated a three-star defensive end by Scout. Stay tuned to Spartan Nation as the other commitments prepare to announce their decisions, and ultimately as National Signing Day draws closer.
