2019 Ohio TE plans to visit MSU
TE CJ Kiss has grown up living only about nine miles away from Columbus, Ohio. However, Kiss is not a Buckeye fan and is looking around for schools such as Michigan State.
The 6-foot-4 190-pound Gahanna native is looking at Michigan State, University of Pittsburgh and University of Cincinnati. Kiss will visit East Lansing for the first time on either March 18 or March 25.
Kiss is only beginning his recruitment and has mixed emotions as he plans his future. “I’m looking forward to it, but it’s scary at the same time.”
Kiss said that the appeal of Michigan State is the physicality of the team and thinks it could be a fit. “They are very physical,” and he went to add, “I like to think that’s how my game is.”
There is a connection to the Buckeyes in the Kiss family; his mother is a fan. However, Kiss said it would not be too difficult for him to leave and he would enjoy coming back and playing at the Horseshoe.
Although Kiss is projected and prefers to play TE, he is a versatile player and is open to be moved around as he is needed. He started playing when he was only five-years-old and has always moved around the field.
“I’m open to play wherever someone needs me,” Kiss told Spartan Nation. “I’ve always been a very versatile player.”
Kiss said his best skill at TE is his receiving as he can use his tall frame and quick feet. He plans to improve on blocking by adding 20-pounds before the start of his next season at Lincoln High School.
Not only does Kiss want to improve as a player, he wants to improve as a student. Kiss already boasts a 3.5 grade-point average while taking classes like Honors Algebra, but said he still wants to improve it.
Kiss will also visit East Lansing this summer and plans to attend one of Michigan State’s football camps. Keep it tuned to Spartan Nation for the latest on Kiss and as soon as we know what weekend he is coming, we will fill you in.
