The Michigan State Spartans have received their fifth commitment in the football recruiting class of 2018 in Powell, Ohio three-star linebacker Edward Warinner. The 6’1”, 220 pound inside linebacker marks the third commitment from the state of Ohio in the class. Edward informed Spartan Nation of his commitment first and discussed his commitment.
“I just texted Coach Tressel, letting him know I was about to call him because I had good news this morning.,” Edward informed Spartan Nation this morning. “Then, during my study hall, I called him and the spoke to Coach Dantonio and let him know that I was committing. They were really excited and very happy to have me on board!”
The three-star linebacker received a scholarship offer from the Spartans just over a week ago, on April 4th. In just eight days of holding the offer, Edward knew he could not pass up the opportunity presented to him. Edward explained what his commitment means to him, saying “It feels awesome! To know that I am an Ohio kid with has the ability to go up to East Lansing and go to a school like Michigan State and play for the program is exciting.”
Now that the Ohioan is officially a Spartan commit, he has big plans to recruit other Spartans target from Ohio to join him at Michigan State. “Im gonna help out and maybe reach out to some dudes that have a lot of interest in Michigan State,” he commented.
Scout rates Edward Warinner a three-star recruit and the 27th ranked inside linebacker in the nation. He brings a physical presence to the Spartans defense and is acclaimed for his instincts on the football field.
