Fourth Michigan State Football Player Under Investigation for Sexual Misconduct in a Separate Incident
Spartan Nation was made aware on Monday of another incident involving a Michigan State football player. Since no charges have been filed, Spartan Nation WILL NOT name the player, but we are knowledgeable of who it is.
That is why yesterday when Mark Dantonio was speaking for the first time publicly since his post spring game press conference Spartan Nation had this exchange with the Spartans head coach.
SN: Are there any players who PARTICIPATED in the spring game that have since been suspended or no longer with the team?
Dantonio: “We red lock people from time to time, we use the term red lock for various things. So yes there has been. That is constant. There is constant people in and out of different situations and I think that is normal.”
Since no police report is available as of yet we had not reported the incident. Today we reached out and got a comment for you, via the Ingham County Prosecutor’s Office (ICPO) and that is as follows:
“We have learned that there is a Meridian Township Police investigation into allegations of sexual misconduct and we are aware it is a MSU football player. Nothing has been submitted to the Ingham County Prosecutor’s Office (ICPO) or to the court at this time either.”
Currently there are three football players and one staff member (Curtis Blackwell) who are suspended while an investigation is being conducted into a separate incident of sexual misconduct. Spartan Nation has previously reported that we expected charges to be filed within the next three weeks in the previous incident.
The embattled Spartan football program had multiple players “Red lighted” or sometimes called, “Red carded” this off season. MSU made the following comments about the prior incident THAT YOU CAN READ RIGHT HERE.
The new alleged incident occurred after the spring game (the player being investigated did participate in the game April 1) and Monday morning April 10 when Spartan Nation was told of the incident having occurred.
In addition to multiple suspensions, two starters have also left the team. Thiyo Lukusa and Jon Reschke.
