Speaking with 2018 3* LB Jeslord Boateng after recent visit to Michigan State

Yesterday, the Spartans hosted perhaps one of their top remaining targets in the class of 2018 for his first visit. Jeslord Boateng is a three-star outside linebacker for Dublin Coffman High School, in Dublin, Ohio, and he may just be Michigan State’s newest addition to the class of 2018. Spartan Nation caught up with the “Plan A” recruit to discuss his visit and where his recruitment is headed.

Michigan State offered Boateng in early May. He had never set foot in East Lansing, but he already knew the Spartans would be a major contender. He likes the usage of the linebacker position and the physicality of them for the defense. He also heard nothing but positive information about head coach Mark Dantonio. So, Boateng figured it was time to see what all the hype was about.

Boateng took to Twitter yesterday to describe his visit to East Lansing.

“It was my best visit yet,” Boateng told Spartan Nation, “everything stood out and I enjoyed everything.” As it was the 6’3”, 200 pound athletic linebacker’s first visit to Michigan State, he did not know what to expect, other than what his coaches and peers had described to him. However, Michigan State left an even better impression on Boateng than he thought it would. “It most definitely lived up to my expectations going into the visit. Everything blew me away.”

With meetings with the coaches, touring the campus, and checking out the facilites, Boateng had quite a busy day. However, he did have a favorite part of his visit. “My favorite part of my visit was meeting the coaches. I met with Coach Dantonio, Coach Tressel, and Coach Burton.”

“I really like Coach Dantonio,” Boateng added “he is a man I really look up to.” With that said, it is pretty easy to tell the three-star recruit could see him playing for Coach Dantonio. He even confirmed it, saying “for sure, I can definitely see myself playing for him one day.”

Boateng had one last statement to add before we wrapped up our discussion. “Michigan State feels like home to me. Maybe it will be pretty soon,” he concluded.

Scout rates Jeslord Boateng a three-star outside linebacker. Spartan Nation feels very confident about the Spartans’ chances with Boateng. Stay tuned to Spartan Nation for all updates for Boateng’s recruitment.
