Spartans Ready For Illinois Invasion

Michigan State signed Roland Martin, the Land of Lincoln's top offensive lineman last year and now another Illinoisan has his sights set on East Lansing. Here's an early look at Dace Richardson.

The offensive line position is starting to shape up nicely in the Land of Lincoln. A prospect who's getting a ton of attention in Illinois is offensive tackle Dace Richardson.

The 6-foot-6, 290-pounder from Wheaton-Warrenville South was an all-area selection in 2003 and he'll be an Illinois "Top 30" selection as well as a Midwest "Hot 100" selection in 2004.

"Iowa, Illinois and Northwestern have all offered me a scholarship," said Richardson.

"My favorites are Illinois, Iowa, Wisconsin, Michigan State and USC. I grew up in California and still have family there.

"I've been to junior days at Illinois and Northwestern. This Sunday, I'll be at Wisconsin's junior day.

"I'm going to hit a few camps. I'm just not sure which ones yet."
