David Richard is one of the best running backs I've seen on film this year. Richard has power, speed and he has an unmatched work ethic.
,br> In an interview with Richard this past summer, Richard said his role model was Michigan State running back, T.J. Duckett.

Richard met his role model last weekend while on his official visit to East Lansing. Duckett caught the winning touchdown while rushing for more than 200 yards against rival and #6 ranked Michigan.

Richard saw enough on his official visit and spoke enough with T.J. Duckett to make him want to be a Spartan.

Sources in East Lansing told Pool Recruiting this morning that David Richard called Michigan State head coach, Bobby Williams this morning and gave him his verbal commitment.

This is a super get for the Spartans and with Richard committed and with the earlier commitment of Matt Trannon, look for the State recruiting class to vault into second place in the Big Ten.

Its still very early but Michigan State has an excellent recruiting class now and they have several prospects that are listing them as either a favorite or at least in their top three.

Another huge commitment would be that of linebacker Nate Harris. Harris, from Miami, Florida is considered one of the top linebackers in the country.

Harris also made his Michigan State official visit last weekend and told Spartan head coach Bobby Williams, that he is going to commit to Michigan State but wanted to take a few visits before going public with his decision.
