The Allison's - A House Torn?

Lake Orion, Michigan is home to Michigan bound linebacker Roger Allison. Could younger brother Ryan end up in East Lansing playing for the Spartans? If it does happen, dinners and family get togethers should be real interesting.

Ryan Allison, a 6-foot-3, 205-pound wide receiver/defensive back from Lake Orion, Michigan runs a legit 4.28 in the 40 and his stock has been on a steady rise since early April.

The younger brother of Michigan bound linebacker/fullback Roger Allison is looking to play often and early and it doesn't matter if that school is Michigan or Western Michigan.

"I just want to get on the field early," said Ryan Allison. "Michigan took a lot of receivers last year and they already have a commitment from Mario Manningham, so Michigan may not be an option for me. Michigan is also limited in scholarship numbers this year from what I'm told

"The Michigan coaches have asked me to come to camp this summer so they can see me work out at linebacker. I don't know if I want to do that.

"If I play linebacker at Michigan, it would take me a couple of years to put on the weight to play that position and I don't want to wait that long to get on the field."

Does Allison have any scholarship offers?

"UCLA, Georgia Tech, Michigan State, Bowling Green and Eastern Michigan have all offered me. I'm looking for the best situation for myself. I'm keeping an open mind and looking at everyone right now.

"If I had to pick favorites, UCLA, Michigan State, Notre Dame, Purdue, Michigan, Virginia Tech and Oregon would be at the top of my wish list."

Allison will be a three-year starter in 2004. Ryan also runs track and participates in the 110 and 300-meter hurdles.
