Spartans down Northern Michigan 98-56

Michigan State scores 28 unanswered points in routing Northern Michigan to end the exhibition season. The Spartans open the regular season at home Friday night against the Rattlers of Florida A&M.

EAST LANSING, Mich. - Paul Davis had 18 points and 11 rebounds, and Drew Naymick blocked six shots in the first half, leading No. 10 Michigan State to a 98-56 victory over Division II Northern Michigan in an exhibition game Sunday.

Maurice Ager added 18 points, and Alan Anderson had 15 points and 10 rebounds against Michigan State coach Tom Izzo's alma mater.

Michigan State also got 13 points from Kelvin Torbert and 11 each from Chris Hill and Shannon Brown.

Michigan State also announced that freshman center Idong Ibok will miss four to six weeks with a broke left hand, an injury sustained Friday in practice.

The Spartans open the regular season at home Friday night against Florida A&M.
