MSU gets commitment from JUCO receiver Jones

Michigan State received an oral commitment from Northeast Mississippi CC wide receiver Emory Jones. Jones commitment is the second one for the Spartans this week.

(EAST LANSING) - Emory Jones of Northeast Mississippi Community College is one of the top JuCo wide receivers in the country. Jones gave the Michigan State Spartans an oral commitment this weekend after mulling offers from several southern schools.

The 6-4, 215 pound receiver is having an outstanding year and has set up his first official visit.

Jones took his first official visit to MSU and fell in love with the campus and the Big Ten atmosphere.

Jones turned down offers from Alabama, Michigan State, Memphis, Mississippi State, Toledo, and Auburn."

"My favorite is Michigan State," he said after his visit, "but I also really like Alabama. I like Memphis too," said Jones, but when it came down to it, he decided to commit to MSU.

How did his season go?

"We lost our first game last week against Mississippi Delta 17-16. We missed two extra points, three field goals, and had a punt returned for a touchdown called back. We will be alright though. I have been having a pretty good year. I have 40 receptions for 500 yards with only one touchdown. I have not seen single coverage since the Coahoma game," said Jones.
