Now, soon after taking an official visit to Wisconsin (Jan. 8), Pleasant has switched his verbal commitment to the Badgers.
Pleasant, a two-star safety prospect from Montrose, Mich., was an all-state selection as a defensive back his senior year. He also played running back and was an 1,000-yard rusher.
"I really like the people," Pleasant told the Wisconsin State Journal. "The one that recruited me is (receivers) coach (Henry) Mason. I like coach (Ron) Lee, (who) will be my position coach. I like coach (Barry) Alvarez. I like the program, which is excellent, it's known for the tradition of winning. I like coach (John) Dettmann and the strength and conditioning program and the environment and the city. The city is just vibrant."
When asked if Mitchell was the main reason for the change in his committment, Pleasant was non-committal. "When I took the visit, I saw a lot of things I liked and things that were comparable and weren't comparable (to Michigan State). The pros and cons, we weighed Sunday night and Michigan State just wasn't the winner this time."
