"We only get to see the TV copy at this point. We don't have film on them, yet. What they're doing is running a two quarterback system. They're alternating quarterbacks in and out. They're still the same as far as formations and motions looks and routes and protections and all that. They have added a little bit that when number six (quarterback Colt Brennan) comes into the game, now run becomes more of a threat for them. So now they'll run some options and some traps and different things like that. They prefer to run that with that kid as compared to the other kid. So it gives them a little bit more flexibility as far as making you account for the quarterback."
What he seen of their defensive scheme on the TV copy:
"A lot of it is the three-man, they're basically a '30' package. The're going to play with three down (linemen) whether it be 'double eagle' or whatever looks that they're going to give you, so that they can bring a guy, a linebacker from either side and all of that mixture and change things up from there. It's hard to say, SC ran by them, SC runs by a lot of people."
Offensive lineman Kyle Cook on wanting "payback"?
"We don't think about payback for what they did. These are different guys that are playing and different coaches so we've just got to go out and win it."
Will whether the mentality is to put up 70 points?
"We're going to try to score as many as we can. We're trying to dominate as an offense to show what we can do as an offensive line and as an offensive unit so we're not going to hold anything back."
Hawaii coach June Jones on MSU:
"Michigan State has an unbelievable offense. Kent State had one of the top defenses in the country last season and so that tells you what we're up against. We are going to have our hands full. We need to be able to get through this game and be able to survive the injuries and survive the mental defeats, which our kids will do."
On MSU's refusal to trade game tape:
"They (won't) send us their tape. Also, they put the word out that it was us that didn't want to (exchange videos), which was not true. We've been waiting to send ours and talk to their video guy. "The Michigan State coaches asked the Kent State coaches not to send it to us because we wouldn't send them ours. I have no idea why they would lie to them. It's kind of a bad deal. You do what you do to win, I guess."
Michigan State quarterback Drew Stanton on whether it was nasty on the field vs. Hawaii?
"Not really, a lot of those guys were real friendly. You can get into trash-talking and stuff like that against some teams, but honestly those guys played hard and they weren't trash-talking or cheap shot-ing anybody as far as it goes from the defensive standpoint, I don't know what was going out there on offense. But you know I don't have any remorse for what happened out there against those guys. I'm looking forward to seeing some of those guys again.
Is MSU going to make this personal?
"It's not that personal. They're the next team on our schedule and that's who we want to beat. That's all we're worried about right now."
