Several schools offered Baldwin a scholarship and he gave Kansas State his verbal commitment before his scheduled official visit last weekend. Baldwin gave Pool the exciting news for the Spartans.
"I'm no longer committed to Kansas State," Baldwin said. "I committed to them (K-State) before my official visit but when I was on my official visit, I just had a gut feeling that Kansas State wasn't for me.
"I mean, I got along with the players and the coaches but I didn't like the city. There's nothing there. It's just farm land and there's nothing to do out there. I came home and talked to my mom about it and we decided to look at other schools.
"Michigan State (12-9) is my No. 1 right now. I visited there and they are out front right now. I have a lot of offers, I'm going to sit back down and sort through some things. I'm going to sign on February 1st and right now it looks like Michigan State."
Minnesota, Utah, Texas Tech, Washington State, Nevada and others have offered Ervin Baldwin a scholarship. He had 17 tackles for loss and 15 sacks this past season at Reedley. He was a Juco All-America selection.
