Both players played well. Lucas certainly looked like one of the top point guards in the country in the victory, scoring 33-points. It was the seventh time this year that Lucas had scored over 30-points in a game this year. Lucas used excellent quickness, and vast array of moves to score those 33-points.
Herzog had a big game to, scoring 24-points, grabbing 15 rebounds, and blocking six shots. He also threw down a monster dunk and was fouled on the same play.
Jon Tassin added 20 points for OLSM's, and Laval Lucas-Perry, a Division one prospect in both football and basketball, added 23 points for Powers.
The game actually went into overtime before, and in fact, Powers held a 68-64 lead with 3:11 in this first overtime.
However, they could not hold on and St Mary's got the victory. Powers missed two three-pointers with just seconds remaining in the first overtime that would have forced a 2nd overtime.
St Mary's is now 10-5 on the year and Powers fell to 14-1, their first loss of the year.
