EAST LANSING - Lansing police are investigating an incident that took place prior to tonight's MSU-Michigan contest and the actions of reserve center Amadou Ba.

A fan appeared to yell at some of the Michigan players warming up for tonight's contest, won by the Spartans 91-70. As he walked passed Ba, who was seated on the bench, video footage showed the fan stop, then turn back in the direction of the 6-foot-10, 260 pound center.

Ba then got up and shoved the fan to the floor. Michigan State spokesman Terry Denbow told the media that the fan appeared to be intoxicated.

But when the fan had to be taken to a nearby hospital, police reportedly began to question those who were nearby and witnessed the incident.

Ba refused comment when approached by the media after the game and had apparently had already left the arena before police could talk with him.

There is no word on whether Lansing police will pursue the incident or whether any charges will be forthcoming.
