Already in possession of a verbal commitment from quarterback Keith Nichol of Lowell, the state's top high school quarterback, MSU has landed a verbal commitment from running back Quincy Landingham of Bloomfield Hills Lahser HS.
He is a one-star player according to Scout.com and is expected to graduate early and enroll in MSU for the winter semester. He will be eligible for spring ball in 2007 if he does so.
The 6-foot-2 running back/safety made a number of big plays including a 52-yard touchdown run to seal a blowout 42-14 homecoming win against Auburn Hills Avondale and a forced fumble and fumble recovery against Avondale in the playoffs to preserve a Knights victory.
Landingham had 75 yards rushing in a playoff win over crosstown rival Avondale on just nine carries and a 54-yard touchdown run against St. Clair.
