Tinney was dismissed from the team for unspecified violation of team rules and will not be allowed to return according to a statement from MSU sports information director John Lewandowski.
"He was sent home and I think it is safe to say you will not see him in a Spartan uniform," Lewandowski told the media over the weekend.
MSU had been recruiting the talented defensive back for the better part of two seasons. They lost him to UCONN initially when the 6-foot-1 corner verballed to that school. However, he failed to qualify and then tried to switch his commitment to Syracuse but couldn't qualify for the Orangemen either.
After deciding to attend Milford to work on his academics, he signed on with MSU, but his conduct in East Lansing quickly made him a pariah with the coaching staff.
"He was basically given a one-way bus ticket home and asked not to return," Lewandowski confirmed.
