Indiana Prospect Names Favorites

One of the top prospects in the state of Indiana has Michigan State on his list of favorites. He won a state championship in 2001.

Jared Evans, a 6-foot-3, 285-pound, offensive lineman from (Indianapolis) Ben Davis will be a prospect to watch in 2002.

Evans will be a three-year varsity starter on the offensive line and he'll play defensive tackle in 2002 as well.

"My sophomore and junior years I played the quick tackle position and next year my coach (Dick Dullaghan) is moving me to a strong guard and three technique (defensive tackle) on defense." Evans said.

"I don't have an offer yet. I think Indiana, Purdue, Tennessee, Wisconsin and Boston College are recruiting me the hardest.

"With having Indiana ties, I'd like to stay in the state so Indiana and Purdue are my favorites and I'm also looking at Michigan, Michigan State and Tennessee. Miami (Ohio) is also a school I'm very interested in."

Evans also letters in wrestling. He plans on visiting both Michigan and Michigan State on unofficial visits this month. He carries a 2.5 GPA and scored 20 on his ACT.
