The two were involved in an off-campus fracus and have were suspended indefinitely by Smith. Dwayne Holmes started the contest and Smith used backup tackle Brandon Moss at the position, primarily as a blocker.
INJURY REPORT: The Spartans offensive line remains in flux after an injury to starting left tackle Mike Gyetvai. That forced offensive line coach Jeff Stoutland to switch Peter Clifford to right tackle and insert ailing Kenny Shane at left guard.
Making matter worse, center Kyle Cook got banged up during the Buckeyes 35-7 mauling of the Spartans and junior John Masters had to enter the game as a replacement. So far, the right side of the Spartans line with sophomores Roland Martin and Jesse Miller remains intact. On the other side of the ball, corner Greg Cooper suffered only what MSU termed as a "mild head injury" after a scary scene where he had to be carted off the field. Cooper is believed to have suffered a concussion. Sophomore Otis Wiley said his hand was "throbbing" in pain despite the presence of a cast. Quarterback Drew Stanton, who was most ineffective against Ohio State, is said to be suffering from a sore back and a sprained neck. Backup Brian Hoyer played well in relief of Stanton engineering MSU's only TD drive of the game, a two-yard plunge by A.J. Jimmerson.
