MSU vaulted up the USCHO rankings, landing at #4 after a decisive win over Ferris State in Big Rapids last week. Right behind them in the rankings at #5 are the Fighting Irish who also received one first place vote in the poll.

The Central Collegiate Hockey Association (CCHA) honored two Notre Dame hockey players for their play in games last weekend.

Sophomore left wing Erik Condra (Livonia, Mich.) has been named the CCHA offensive player of the week for his five-point week (2g, 3a) in 5-2 and 4-0 wins over Bowling Green.

His linemate, freshman right wing Ryan Thang (Edina, Minn.) was named the CCHA rookie of the week after scoring two goals and adding an assist in the 5-2 win over the Falcons on Friday night (Nov. 10).

Meanwhile MSU goalie Jeff Lerg was named CCHA goaltender of the week for his shutout performance against the Bulldogs.
