EAST LANSING - Michigan State University head football coach Mark Dantonio today took some time to answer a few of MSU fans most frequently asked questions.

Q: How soon will you have a staff in place?

DANTONIO: "I don't think we can put a time frame on it but we want to do it as soon as possible. At the same time, it's very important that we get the right people in the right spots. Of course, my loyalty will always be to my current staff, so they'll have an opportunity to come and they'll bring an instant way of doing things to Michigan State."

Q: What are you going to do about Keith Nichol, a verbal commit to Michigan State?

DANTONIO:"I cannot talk individually about specific recruits but I can tell you that the ones that are committed, the ones that we know about, we will be on the phone to them directly. I was not allowed to call anybody until this and I've already put .......we'll leave it at that, but that is priority number one." editor's note: Nichol has decided to take an official on-campus visit to Oklahoma

Q: Why would you take a job where you have to compete against Ohio State, Michigan and Notre Dame?

DANTONIO:"I think we have the opportunity to compete against the best you can become the best. We have an opportunity to play Notre Dame, Michigan, Ohio State. They are where they are right now. But you have an opportunity to play against those people, you have an opportunity to measure up. That's what we've done everywhere I've been. You try to measure up and you play with a lot of passion and a lot of energy, that's exciting to me. Because as a coach and as a player, you always want to challenge yourself to be the best."
