Four Star RB says he'll listen to Dantonio

White, a 5-foot-8 speed burner from Hammonton, N.J., St. Joseph's said while he never had MSU on his list of finalists for his services, they are on his radar now that Dantonio is at Michigan State.

DETROIT - New MSU head coach Mark Dantonio said that he had instant credibility when it came to recruiting and that sure seems to be the case with New Jersey running back Richard White, Jr.

White, a 5-foot-8 speed burner from Hammonton, N.J., St. Joseph's said while he never had MSU on his list of finalists for his services they are now that Dantonio is at Michigan State.

"Yes, definitely," said White when asked if he would considered Michigan State now that coach Dantonio is in place.

White admitted that Iowa is his front runner and said he would be taking an in-home visit from Iowa running backs coach Darell Wilson, with whom he's struck up a friendship. He says he is contacted by Iowa at least once every "week or so." He also said he'd be setting up his official visit to Iowa during Wilson's visit.

"Thanks a lot for telling me that," said White who was unaware that Dantonio has taken the Michigan State job. White had Cincinnati among the top teams on his list. "I didn't know that, that's interesting," he said.

With 4.45 speed, its not surprising that White was asked to come over and join the track team. "Actually I'm going to run track this year, this will be the first time."

While Michigan State has three solid backs in Javon Ringer, Jehuu Caulcrick and A.J. Jimmerson, there has been some rumors of a possible transfer by Jimmerson. Whether or not that happens, backs with 4.4 speed don't come around every day.

That instant credibility seems to be paying off for the Spartans.
