EAST LANSING - #25 Michigan State hopes to keep their unbeaten streak at home alive when they host Indiana Purdue-Fort Wayne at the Breslin Center tonight at 8:00pm EST.
The Spartans (7-2) will be without prized freshman Raymar Morgan who suffered an injury to his right shin. Spartans officials say the injury is not yet a fracture, but could develop into one, so they are sitting Morgan for up to two-three weeks and hope to have him back by the start of Big Ten play.
Morgan broke the record for freshman scoring in double figures in their first collegiate action for Michigan State, taking the record to six games. The previous record was four.
Coach Izzo said that IPFW (3-5) gave MSU all they could handle a season ago and that he is wary of their team which returns several contributors from last year's team.
``I think this is a little bit of a trap game," said Izzo of IPFW. ``If you remember last year they led us the first seventeen, eighteen minutes. Dane Fife has done a very good job with this team."
Dewitt Scott leads the Mastadons in scoring, averaging 11.8 points followed by Jakiri Johnson who averages 8.5 points per game. Michigan State is led by guard Drew Neitzel, who is averaging 17.3 points per game.
