DETROIT - Michigan State continues to make waves in the recruiting waters this time landing offensive tackle Jared McGaha from Powell, Tennessee committed to MSU.

McGaha visited both East Lansing and Ann Arbor this weekend. When he visited coach Lloyd Carr at UM, he was told Michigan had tendered an offer to an Oklahoma lineman and that if he didn't commit, they would offer him.

However, MSU head coach Mark Dantonio did not wait, extending an offer and McGaha committed on the spot. He accepted MSU's offer over tenders from Illinois, Middle Tennessee State, Akron and Cincinnati.

Rated only a one-star prospect by Scout.com, McGaha is viewed as a "diamond in the rough" type prospect who will get bigger and stronger in the Spartan program
