Fairfield, OH linebacker Dewey Elliot, nicknamed "Dew" by his teammates, is one most highly sought after prospects in the Midwest and he took time out from his busy schedule to speak to GSN about how the recruiting process is going for him at this point.
Elliot said that he had not yet been up to Michigan State, but that he planned to get up there. "My coach mentioned something about them [calling] but we are on break (from school) right now so I won't know fully about them until I go back to school."
The 6-foot-1, 240-pound rangy linebacker said he won't be back to school until January 6th as he is headed to Florida to play in a high school all-star bowl game.
I was trying to get Michigan, UC and Ohio State set up," said Elliot about his upcoming visits. I just visited Ohio State over the summer in July and they took me around the campus and showed me the stadium and I really liked it."
Elliot said that because of some academic troubles his sophomore year, he will likely enroll in a prep school next semester. He said he has it down to two schools, Cincinnati Harmony and Virginia's Fork Union.
"I'm going to a prep school starting new semester," said Elliot. "I just visited Harmony this past Thursday, but I'm leaning towards Fork Union. Right now my (ACT and SAT) scores are not high enough."
GSN will keep an eye on this talented prospect and follow his development as he continues to have Michigan State on his radar.
