DETROIT - When GoSpartans.net talked to Chicago offensive lineman Arthur Ray on Thursday, he said there "was a chance" that he could commit to Michigan State, but he would most likely take his final visit to Boston College.

Ray decided to take the chance.

He became the second verbal commitment to Michigan State when he gave his pledge to the Michigan State coaching staff this weekend.

Earlier, Ray, a 6-foot-3, 305-pound offensive lineman from Chicago Mt. Carmel said the Spartans coaching staff really liked what they saw in him, a big agressive lineman who got after people.

His stock soared when he dominated the one-on-one sessions at the Scout.com Iowa combine. After being hosted by fellow Chicagoan Roland Martin, Ray decided that MSU felt like home.

Welcome aboard.
