Michigan State junior guard Drew Neitzel was named to the NABC All District team first team yesterday.

The honor is significant because it makes Neitzel eligible for All-American honors.

Neitzel, a 6-foot-2, guard was joined on the first team by Wisconsin's Alando Tucker, Marquette's Dominique James, Southern Illinois' Jamaal Tatum and Loyola Chicago's Blake Schilb.

Ten players from each district are named to the first and second teams. The other five are Southern Illinois' Randal Falker, DePaul's Wilson Chandler, Wisconsin's Kammron Taylor, Marquette's Jerel McNeill and Illinois' Warren Carter.

Neitzel averages 18.2 points per game and was named Big Ten player of the year three times and ESPN's National Player of the week.
