State edges LSSU 7-6 awaits NCAA Selection

Michigan State held out Lake Superior State in a high scoring 7-6 shoot out and now await the NCAA selection show at 2:30pm to find out if they will receive an at-large bid to the NCAA tournament.

Tyler Howells came up big scoring the game winner in overtime to allow MSU to escape with a win.

"This was a win that we had to get or else our season was probably over," Head Coach Rick Comley said. "I would never have dreamt that these two goaltenders would have given up 13 goals, but we'll take the win and look forward to next weekend," said the coach who clearly believes an NCAA bid is in the bag.

The Spartans will gather at Reno's Eastside in East Lansing at 2:30pm to watch the selection show and find out their fate.
