Spartan Coach Drops in on OT Austin Holtz

Holt offensive linemen Austin Holtz is one of the top players in the state of Michigan. He also is on one of the better teams in the Lansing area, so it was no surprise that the MSU staff dropped in on Holtz and his teammates this past week.

HOLT, MI - Holt High School is home to several talented prospects this season. Two of their top players, LB Mitch Zajac and OT Austin Holtz are on the radar for the Michigan State Spartans.

The 6'5, 260-lb Holtz has started every game for the Rams since his sophomore season. He has played right tackle, left tackle and can also move down to guard at the next level. That versatility and experience is intriguing to many schools including MSU and they dropped in on him early last week.

"I hadn't talked to [MSU] in awhile," Holtz reported, "but then Coach Enos stopped in real quick to our school last week."

Enos, the Spartans' running back coach was a busy man last week as recruits on several different teams reported him visiting their respective high schools. Holtz does not have a Spartan offer currently, but does have an opportunity to earn one this summer.

"He said he really wanted me to stop up at their camp this summer and I think I'll be going there. It's on June 22nd."

In addition to that camp, Holtz also will likely head to Ann Arbor for the University of Michigan's summer camp. He currently only has an Eastern Michigan offer, but hopes that he will earn more by traveling to these camps. will have more on Holtz and his teammate Zajac in the coming days.
