Recently GSN was tipped off that one of the south's most versatile and talented players, defensive end/tight end/wide receiver Steven Fowlkes of Collge Park, GA., was interested in the Spartans.
We tracked down Fowlkes and were blown away at his interest in the Spartans.
GSN: What is your interest in Michigan State?
FOWLKES: "Michigan State is a very good school. If they offer me, they'll automatically be one of my top choices, if not my top choice. I haven't been to the school or anything, but I like the way they play, I've watched almost all of their games. I really like them."
GSN: Since you're based in Georgia are the SEC schools showing interests, do you have any offers?
FOWLKES: "Just about every SEC school has offered me except for Georgia, that's the only SEC school that hasn't offered me yet."
GSN: Who have you talked to from Michigan State?
FOWLKES:" I believe it was the quarterbacks coach,(Dave Warner), he came to my school."
GSN: What are your strong points as a player?
FOWLKES: "My work ethic is my strong suit. I'll work when no one else wants to work, I'm the last one to leave the gym. My work ethic has gotten me to where I am now."
GSN: What were your junior stats?
FOWLKES: "I played like four games and I had 5.5 sacks and 49 tackles (editor's note: was out several games due to an elbow injury)."
GSN: What camps have you attended so far this spring?
FOWLKES:"I haven't attended any camp but I just attended the Scout combine at Georgia Tech."
GSN will keep tabs on this outstanding southern talent to see if Michigan State tenders and offer to East Lansing.
