The 6-foot-5, 280-lb Pannell has started for the past two seasons at right tackle, earning all conference honors along the way. His strong play has earned him offers from Michigan State, Eastern Michigan, Central Michigan, Minnesota, Purdue and recently, he received one more.
"Penn State offered me," he reported, "They didn't stop by the school or anything, but they told me the offer's in the mail.
The big lineman will next take himself to Ann Arbor where he will attend Michigan's summer camp in hopes of gaining an offer from the Wolverines. Once that week is completed, he'll be able to head home and decide where his college future will be.
" I'm thinking I'll make my decision in July or so," he said.
As of this point in time, Pannell has already been doing some advanced work when it comes to narrowing down his field.
"It will probably come down to Michigan State, Penn State and West Virginia, those are the three frontrunners" he said, "West Virginia hasn't offered me yet though."
The other factor is a Michigan offer at camp, but as of right now, Pannell seems to have a good idea of where he is headed, but is still staying pretty tight lipped. The coaches in the running for his services will simply have to be kept in suspense until July.
