Catching up with Morgan Carter

Virginia wide receiver Morgan Carter received an offer from the Michigan State Spartans back during the early combine circuit. As the season starts to creep up, will Carter make a stop in East Lansing to check out just what the Spartans have to offer? GSN caught up with the talented pass catcher to see where his recruitment stands since we last caught up with him.

When the Michigan State Spartans became the third team to throw their name in the hat for Virginia star wide out Morgan Carter, the talented pass catcher was still a relative unknown.

Still somewhat under the radar, Carter is now sitting at five offers.

"I've got five offers now," Carter said. "After Michigan State offered, I received offers from Temple and Duke. I'm excited about all the people that have been willing to commit to offering me a scholarship and I respect them for stepping up to the plate."

With five offers now in hand, and the same group of schools contributing to Carter's top five, the Virginia high schooler is beginning the process of visiting campuses across the nation.

"I was up at Tennessee and Duke last weekend," he continued to GSN. "I'm going to Ohio State to check them out this weekend and I might try and stop by Michigan State while we're up there."

While it remains to be seen whether the prospect will make it to East Lansing this weekend, when asked if he would be visiting the Spartans for sure at some time during the process, the answer came without hesitation.

"Absolutely," Carter said. "Getting to MSU to check out what the school has to offer is an absolute must. I still talk to the coaches every week and I'm ready to go see what it's all about. Most definitely."
