Could Yancich Be Third Spartan?

"The myspace thing... I've just...I did that about three months ago," --Washington (PA) Trinity linebacker Mike Yancich.

EAST LANSING - It's a longshot for sure, but Michigan State has made it to the final five and there won't be any more cutdowns until Mike Yancich makes his decision public on Tuesday.

Yancich has already decided where he is going and simply needs to let the world know when he steps into a news conference expected to be held at Washington Trinity high school.

We asked Yancich if he was tipping his hand on his which is decked out in Green-and-White with the Spartans logo.

"The myspace thing... I've just...I did that about three months ago, said Yancich. I went through all my random college choice (colors) and I've posted them all and changed them every other month. I haven't changed them in a while, but if you're asking me if I like Michigan State, I do."

Yancich's hometown newspaper, the Washington (PA) Observer-Reporter speculated similarly after seeing the site and noting that of the remaining contenders on Penn State is in the Big Ten, Yancich's conference of choice.

The others are Pitt, West Virginia and UConn.

The big-time linebacking prospect became a force his junior season, recording 115 tackles, six sacks and two picks. At 6-foot-3, 225, he possesses ideal size for a weakside backer at the collegiate level.

Yancich says he really likes Michigan State's coaching staff, something that GSN has heard often from several high profile recruits.

"They're really cool people," said Yancich.

Are they cool enough to land the four-star and #8 weakside linebacking prospect in the nation? Stay tuned to GSN for results of Yancich's announcement on Tuesday.
