The Spartans are hanging around in the battle for Brandon Green of Robeson, IL, a four-star wide receiver who's looking for immediate playing time.
"I went to Illnois and Minnesota's camps. I may go to another but we have our own camp at my school."
Since Green has not been able to visit the University, he was very interested to hear more about the Lansing area from former Spartans great Muhsin Muhammad, a star player with the Chicago Bears of the NFL.
"I was talking a little bit to Muhsin Muhammad and he was telling me all about Michigan State. They are still up there on my list, I still like Michigan State. They've been texting me."
"I'm looking for a school that has my major and where I can get on the field," said Green who is being recruited by Coach Roushar. "He told me a lot of good things about Michigan State. He said I would fit in good because they have a lot of receivers leaving and I could have a quick impact. That made me feel good."
Green, who led his team to a 10-2 finish and into the second round of the state high school playoffs said he isn't going to commit to a University until after his senior season so he'll have plenty of time to set up an official visit to East Lansing.
GSN will follow closely as Green works his way through his senior season and on to the next level. Stay tuned.
