McKenzie Leaving State For NHL

Michigan State senior forward Jim McKenzie is leaving the school after signing a two-year deal with the Ottawa Senators.

EAST LANSING - Michigan State senior forward Jim McKenzie is leaving the school after signing a two-year deal with the Ottawa Senators.

McKenzie, who is 23, signed his deal and will be assigned to the Senators top minor league club in Binghamton, NY of the American Hockey League.

The senior forward was the 141st pick in the 2004 draft and had been expected to return to East Lansing, but instead decided to turn professional after Michigan State won the National Championship last season.
