New Leader for Demens

Nebraska and Michigan State have been sitting a top the offer list for three-star linebacker Kenny Demens for the past few weeks. With the two schools sitting tied at the top of his board as recently as last night, Demens is now ready to claim a school has emerged as his new No. 1. Who took the lead in this recruitment as Nebraska and Michigan State jockey for position?

When GSN last talked with Detroit Country Day linebacker Kenny Demens, the Cornhuskers had pulled even with the Spartans at the top of the hard-hitting, three-star linebackers list. With a trip to Lincoln now on the Horizon, GSN caught up with Demens one last time before his trip to Nebraska.

Demens was ready to name a new leader.

GSN: Are you ready to name a top school?
Demens: Man, as recently as last night I told another reporter I was still confused. I'd say Michigan State is back on top now though. State is my No. 1 again.

GSN: What put Michigan State back on top?
Demens: I just am more comfortable there now. I know the coaches and the people and the fans. I haven't had a chance to get out and see or really talk to Coach Callahan at Nebraska yet.

GSN: Are you planning another trip to Michigan State anytime soon?
Demens: I don't have anything plannet yet, but I'm sure I'll be back at Michigan State this summer.

GSN:Are you still visiting Nebraska?
Demens: Yeah, I had to push it back until July 29-30.

GSN: Is it possible for you to visit Michigan State and pull the trigger before going out to Lincoln?
Demens: No, I'm going to check out Nebraska for sure before I make a commitment.

Stay tuned for the latest in Kenny Demens recruitment.
