6-foot-6 1/2, 180-pound offensive lineman Ryan Dannewitz confirmed to GSN that he's received an offer from Michigan State but the Spartans have some strong competition from many of the nation's top collegiate programs for his services.
How did the Spartans come upon him?
"Coach Pollack, my (high school) coach gave them the film or something and that's how they found out about me."
Who's recruiting him the hardest right now?
"San Diego, Colorado, Oregon, Michigan State, they text me a lot and Washington too."
What is his impression of Big Ten football?
"I know there are a lot of good teams in the Big Ten including Michigan State. I know they get a lot of exposure around the country."
Who is his current favorite?
"I say my interest in all the schools that have offered me are 'medium', they're all really even right now."
What's he looking for in his school of choice?
"I've just got to be able to adapt to where I'm going and it's about how good the football team is and where I can feel comfortable for five years of my life."
Does he expect to play guard or tackle in college?
"They're telling me tackle but if I have to move to guard I'll move to guard anywhere I can play. I think I have the footwork to be a guard, I know I need to work more on my footwork but I'm still getting taller and when I stop growing I think I'll adapt to my height and getting better and better."
How did his team do last season?
"We lost in the championship game though but we made it that far. I think I did pretty well to help my team out and I'm looking forward to next season. We have our whole linebacking corps back and we have a strong defense."
