Sweet #6: Bay City's Robinson Joins Fold

Robinson was clocked as fast as 10.11 in the 100 meter dash and has the ability to take the ball the distance when he gets an opening.

EAST LANSING - If speed kills, then the Michigan State Spartans grabbed a straight up threat this weekend when they landed their third player of the weekend.

Bay City Central speedster Trenton Robinson gave the MSU staff his verbal commitment over the weekend upping the Spartans total now to six verbals.

Robinson was named special mention All State last season as a junior and the speedy two-sport star will bring his gamebreaking speed to the Spartans.

Robinson was clocked as fast as 10.11 in the 100 meter dash and has the ability to take the ball the distance when he gets an opening.

The 5-foot-11, 185-pound running back/defensive back could figure into the mix for the Spartans at the pivotal corner back position where his combination of size and closing speed would help matching up against the taller, speedier Big Ten receivers coming into the conference.

GSN is keeping its nose to the grindstone during this flurry of MSU verbals.
