If all goes well, and the timing works out, Michigan State might just pick up another in-state commitment this week.
Birmingham Brother Rice's Caulton Ray, who has listed the Spartans as a favorite, will be visiting Michigan State later this week with his mother.
"I want my mom to be able to see the campus and meet some of the professors and coaches," Ray said.
While the decision is ultimately in his own hands, Ray said he needs his parents – especially his mother – to be comfortable with where he plans to spend the next four to five years of his life.
All that's preventing the talented running back from making the trip is a schedule that meshes with head coach Mark Dantonio's.
"He's a busy man right now," Ray said. "His schedule changes every day."
For now, Ray will savor Brother Rice's 10-0 victory over Detroit Denby as he and the team prepare for Upper St. Clair (PA) High School this week.
But as soon as he and his parents can arrange a time to meet with coaches and professors at Michigan State, the two-star athlete will make the trip to East Lansing. And when they do, the Green & White should be close to notching another commitment.
Ray Waits for Right Time
